Moon River140, Thimbirigaryaya Road, Havelock Town, (Colombo 05), Colombo
The menu consists of staples found at any other Chinese restaurant in the city. A Family Restaurant, they claim authenticity because they have flown down chefs from Shanghai. But this could be only in the short term. Prices are reasonable, but on the higher side for restaurants in this area. The food is variable in quality from day to day. The bland dishes are the best ones, and guests are advised not to request for 'more spicy' or Szechuan dishes. The restaurant specialises in Ghuangzhou or Cantonese cuisine.

Hey, why don't you write a review ?
It's a very bad experience. The waiters doesn't care at all. They surely have no clue what is customer care is. They are too casual. The place looks fine but the A/C above us was switched off and when we requested to on it was on but the temperature was too low and was very hot. When we enter the restaurant they did not say that they will close in five minutes and we start ordering and the waiter rudely scared us saying you got five minutes to order. I mean come on how can you say that to a customer. We ordered Tom Yum seafood soup which came with hair. To show it to a waiter we had to keep searching the place and finally saw the lady cleaner who sent the waiter. When we showed him the Hair from the soup he said ok so you want to remove it. Of course we will not pay for a soup that got hair. He did not even bother to say at least sorry. After that for water we had to wait 15 mins and for the bill another 10 mins
The food took some time to arrive, but they were tasty.Mostly the waiters were speak Chinese and aren't well versed in English.Fortunately there are 2 or 3 local waiters. They might be able to speak Sinhala and English both. Please note that this place is fully adjusted to Chinese tradition and I would NOT recommend this place for anyone who can't even speak Chinese language.
Very poor experience. At the entrance, two Asians sleeping on the couch. One of them coughing with flem really loud. Food too salty. Manager has very poor communicating skills with the customers. Tries to force large portions on the menu when he has no clue how much the customer wants to eat. Chinese waitress took the order and the manager came and moved her out and started taking down the order. He mentioned about 7 times, "VIP 20 lobster order, will take time to serve. Order large portion, if you order small, will take a long time to serve" I was not interested in his VIP customers and wanted the same service. Poor culture maintained. Will not go there again.
I'm personally a very disappointed customer. The food maybe good but for me, service is key.No customer loyal or first timer, wants to return to a place that serves you like a nobody.Customers need to be valued, and at Moon River this did not happen.I'm very particular of having the most authentic when it comes to Chinese. However,That's no reason for me to return to a place that does not value me as a customer.I'm saying this because customer is a key reason that a place like a restaurant survives (obviously).Owned by a Chinese living in Sri Lanka, I don't see how when Sri Lanka has given an opportunity to a foreign resident to create something of his own ,that he takes the upper hand and blow off a customer or treat them next to nothing. I go to places for the total experience and here ,that was totally an utter disappointment! I discourage supporting egotistical nut heads who call them selves "entrepreneurs" who don't know squat about marketing or how to treat customers. So yeah!! Not recommending that people go to such a place.
