Royal Thai - Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel
Widely regarded as the best Thai restaurant in Colombo, Royal Thai is located at Cinamon Lakeside- A Five Star hotel located at the heart of the capital. This together with the fact that there’s plenty of parking makes this a very convenient place to dine. Royal Thai has held this title for years now and the quality of food and service just seems to improve over time contrary to that of most restaurants.
Environment
The restaurant is beautiful decorated with a mixture of wood and cloth to give a traditional thai atmosphere. As you enter you are greeted with the sight of a beautiful statue. The brown and beige theme of the restaurant mixed with the lighting provides a warm welcoming glow throughout the restaurant. The whole place is beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean.
Service
Service here never fails to impress. The staff are all friendly, helpful and speak good English. Orders are executed quickly and you are rarely kept waiting over half an hour.
Food
This really is the restaurant’s main selling point. The Thai cuisine available here really is unparalleled to any other thai restaurant in the country. The food is rich and of extremely high quality. Truly of International standard. It isn’t extremely healthy with its rich flavors and great taste but still very much worth the calories! For Healthier thai cuisine restaurants like the Jack Tree are a better option. However this is a MUST for anyone visiting the Cinamon Lakeside Hotel.
Value For Money
Being a 5 Star restaurant, it is quite expensive. Portion sizes are good though so it is justifiable.
Overall
A Classy Restaurant without any real flaws. Expensive-Yes, but for Thai Cuisine in Sri Lanka it just doesn’t get any better than this.
Royal thai has delivered supreme hospitality to a wide variety of international and local clientele with overwhelming epicurean cuisine. The food was fabulous and tantalized the taste buds. Hoping to visit again.
Amazing thai food! Love the prawns in red chillie paste the best. Lots of other great dishes too and excellent service.
Arguably the best Thai Restaurant in the country. The Food and Service are excellent. There's plenty of parking since it is at a 5 Star Hotel. Prices are high but no doubt- The food is worth it!! I'd Highly Reccomend the Green Curry Chicken and the Pad Thai. Nothing beats it.
OMG! The food at Royal Thai is simply delectable and is one of the best in town. The restaurant is dressed up in the theme of a Thai restaurant and very popular among locals. It is a favourite place for birthday dinner and other important social gatherings. As it is located at a five-star hotel, the service is pretty good and the stewards are very friendly.
Have been dining at Royal Thai on several occasions and have been very satisfied with the food quality and service.
The Chef almost always comes by and enquires about the food and if we are enjoying it.
