Steam Boat Restaurant, Borella
Basic Chinese food, at reasonable prices. However, there are many who frequent this rather bare-basics restaurant, which is in the centre of a prestigious residential area.
Environment
Situated in the heart of Colombo offering Dining and Bar facilities for the busy and rushed customers. The outside of this outlet, does not look like an eatery, and definitely not a branch of their much better maintained Nawala branch. Have basic parking lot.
Service
The staffs are not bad, they seems to know how to serve each dishes. They are good but sometimes you will be mysteriously missing them around every few minutes and you have to wait some time to see them coming back to ask something or get the bill.
Food
The food taste and quality is not bad compared to the price, and what we like here is the food taste never changes! The food tastes same almost all the time. We have tried Fried Rice, Garlic & Spicy Kankoon, Hot Butter Mushroom, Chopsuey and they all tastes good expect the Chopsuey. We didn't like their Chopsuey much.
Value For Money
The price range is not bad! it costs around 1,500Rs - 2,500Rs for two persons having a dinner. depend on what you take. But this is not bad compared to the other Chinese restaurants around there considering the quality of food.
Overall
One of my another favorite place! We always have fried rice and curries here. Food and service are good even in the busy schedules. but as mentioned this branch is not clean as it's main nawala place! The upper floor is used as a bar, but mostly always reserved!
Good one, food is good, worth for money as it is cheap compared to other restaurants. but the place is not clean as it's Nawala branch!
Worst environment ever, Its just like a haunted 70s diner. If you are planning on breaking up with a girl bring her here, She will ran away from the minute you stepped in !
