Description
Sizzlers are a recent 'inno-vention' that consists of an entire meal being served on a cast iron platter, which is in turn placed on a wooden base and served sizzling to your table. They are open 365 days of the year from 11am until midnight which is quite a bonus!
The Sizzle is conveniently located in a quiet street in Central Colombo, housed in an old converted house on Walukarama Road in Kollupitiya, Colombo 03. Turn Right immediately after Moolchand Lights on the land side of the Galle Road traveling from Bambalapitiya to Kolupitiya.

The Sizzle
A combination that’s unique and definitely out of the ordinary is the restaurant named The Sizzle. Currently located on Walukarama Road, The Sizzle takes you back in the day when types of meat were served on a hot iron platter which was left to sizzle for a feasting meal. Today, restaurants all over the world serve this cuisine in order to provide customers with a unique experience. The Sizzle is now trademarked for this after opening it’s venture of serving sizzling platters of multicultural cuisine.
ENVIRONMENT
A chatty and very inviting atmosphere. Spacious although can be a little warm because of the steam from the platters served. A family based restaurant, so it’s likely to seek more attention of customers. Table arrangements are fairly large to position the platter in order to provide sufficient eating space for guests. This may seem a minor detail but it is very well thought out. Try eating from a sizzling hot plate while rubbing shoulders with the person next to you and you will know what I mean. Expect to go home with your hair and clothes smelling like you've spent the night in a kitchen, but that's to be expected when dining in a restaurant of this nature, with sizzling hot plates filling the air with a plethora of aromas.
SERVICE
Another unique feature of The Sizzle is that each chair is numbered so that the waiter knows exactly what you ordered. Once again minor detail, but speaks volumes about the restaurants professionalism. Overall, the service is swift and the staff are very friendly. What I feel is most important with regards to service quality is the fact that the owner, Mr. Amalean, is at the restaurant at most times, personally checking on you and your well being. He leaves no stone unturned and this to me is the primary reason for its success.
Parking is a bit of a problem as the street is quite narrow. However, two valets with their luminous vests are always standing on the road waiting to show you where to park. Extremely efficient and they somehow manage to find you am empty parking slot.
FOOD
The food has never been a problem, everything is served hot and sizzling! The meat on the platters look so succulent defining a tingling sensation! A mouth watering aroma, with a variety of choices in exactly how the customer wants their food served. The desserts are a must try. Believe it or not, some of the desserts are served sizzling hot too. Who thought ice cream could be served in a piping hot dish. Try the brownie and ice cream sizzling dessert, it will blow your mind.
VALUE FOR MONEY
All in all very reasonably priced for the quality you get.

If you want it served hot, The Sizzles the place! Clean, friendly, reasonable priced with a slight parking problem, but you will not go home disappointed
The food and experience is different and nice. the staffs are very friendly. Almost everything is hot!!! Price ranges are average - high.
Great place to hangout. I love hot food. It'd be great if the waiting time can be reduced. But it's not a big issue as the food is great :)
Highly Recommend here! The sizzling desserts are just amazing! The sizzling ice creams are just outa this world! Only negative thing is that they take quite a long time for preparation.

This is probably the place that I go to most frequently, whether it's going out with friends/family, office party, or taking a friend who is visiting. Lovely atmosphere and great service. I love the whole concept of everything sizzling, although I have burnt my tongue more than a few times here (no regrets!) The food is ok-to-good. I have never had mains which can be called great, sadly. The desserts are a different story. These must be the most amazing desserts I've ever had! Try the blueberry cheesecake, which comes on a sizzling platter of blueberry sauce, topped with vanilla ice cream, and almonds.
Food is actually good and and it always makes me feel, Yes i am going to come back again. Keep it up.
Also would love to see some Mixed Grill options for meat lovers like us.
Price tags are quite high which is out of your control due to Taxes
The food is great with a good variety. I always try to order something new when am here. May be they should have a good desert menu too. It's a bit pricey but it's of good portion.
Great food great service. Reasonable price =) Tax is confusing as we are foreigners but would recommend.
