Firstly when people give corrective criticism they must know what they are talking about. Allow me to elaborate re Lamprais....the rice is "spot on" it should be the small grain samba ...next, the portion is absolutely correct "palm size" requiring 2 packs for a average man size eater....and yes! you goose there is no egg in a Lamprais and it HAS TO BE mixed meat. That's the original Lamprais....but of course you can go elsewhere and have a 800 gram "bath packet" also called Lamprais from many other stations with Egg and Roast Chicken among a host of other vegetables or sides. so.....next time a person reviews....double check that you know what you are talking about

went to café this week ordered lamprais (didn;t expect it out of a take-away parcel)!!!! (no egg, and what was the mixed meats!!!!!. And the rice was not what lamprais is normally made of. And the price...unprintable for the size of the portion. Also ordered a beef burgher - to the table came a 'hot dog'. Another 15 minutes later came the beef burgher with beef that was unchewable!!!!! Drinks waiter came along asked if we wanted ginger beer... Asked what else was available and bring a menu...Reply,,,, we don't have one, gone for printing!!!! Setting is beautiful but will not be visiting or taking visitors there again.

I visited them again today with a friend who insisted on going there. The young man at the counter was so rude. Their lamprais have actually gotten smaller. It is the size of your palm and at 445 Rs it is shocking! I asked the young man about a hot coffee. He said NO. When I asked why? He said after 4 pm. Then I pointed to a board offering espresso etc, - he said the machine is broken. Why do people bother to open such places if they cannot maintain standards. There was another gent who repeatedly reminded them to take his order. They just could not be bothered. Mr Blacker thinks this is the best lamprais, well I don't know what he is comparing to but it is the worst in my opinion. Lamprais has losts its meaning in SL

Tried their ice coffee recently - far too milk. Not at all a good ice coffee. Their yellow rice is alright but too price. Rs 400 for a rice and curry is quite a lot.

i hate the attitude of some of the employees there. and food has come down in quality i feel. the yellow rice had more curry back in the day. having said all this we still love the food and keep going there. hope they would make an effort to improve the portion size and also the attitude.

Very small portions ... Tried the lamprais and the yellow rice with the pork , nothing to rave about ... Won't be going there again .. Did mention how small the portions were
