Malayan Cafe

This is one of the quintessential Jaffna eatery that strictly serves vegetarian food. The food gets served straight on a banana leaf (no plates), and is an experience in itself for the uninitiated Jaffna traveller. It IS pretty clean, but it maybe not for the queasy. After you get done with the meal, a guy will server a blob of tapioca pudding as desert on the same banana leaf you've been eating on. Either way, it is really fun experience and is highly recommended. Good food, cheap price -- what more could you ask for?
